Feb. 2009 Visit to the Capital!

 February 24th, 2009 was Homelessness Advocacy Day in Olympia. Chris, Justin and Jordan from the Graham Youth House met with Senator Randi Becker and Representative Tom Campbell to thank them for their support of Youth Resources and the services that are available to them.  Youth met staff and sat in on two committee meetings to watch the state government at work. Then of course the day ended with a great dinner out!

Update on Youth Drop-In Center

Getting close!  Insulation going in…sheetrock will follow, then paint, doors, cabinets, flooring and a lot of finishing up!  Weather and some permitting issues slowed us down..but hoping to open in the summer.  We need this open!  Hang in there with us!

Weather slowed down our progress for a few weeks but things are moving along once again! Sheetrock has been delivered and should be going up over the next few weeks.  Parking lot being paved and painting being completed on the exterior.

Have a waiting list for youth needing services…looking forward to when this vital center is open!!!

 Youth  Resources is a 501 3(C) organization located in Spanaway, Washington, that offers support and solutions that leads to self-sufficiency to youth who are at-risk & homeless in Pierce County .

New Youth Housing and Drop-in Center targeted to open in April 2009.
