Emergency/Transitional Housing & Drop-In Center
To Open Fall of 2010
The Youth Resources drop-in center with emergency & transitional housing will offer the following types of assistance to homeless and at-risk youth 13-21
Drop-In Center Services Provided:

Food, clothing, medical care, or other services that youth need (offered either directly or by partnering agencies).

Hygiene supplies, laundry and shower facilities

Meals served three times a day by volunteer community churches and organizations also including center staff & volunteers.

Clothing by donation, medical care through partnering health clinics & health department.

Individual, group, drug, alcohol, mental health and family counseling offered through partnering agencies, teen clinics, and drug & mental health intervention services.

Housing for youth 18-21
Emergency Supply Sites!
Due to various reasons youth find themselves without the basics of life. Whether it’s a lack in the family income or they are homeless and couch surfing among friends…the basic needs for hygiene items and food remain the same.
Located in secondary schools in the Tacoma, Puyallup, Bethel & Franklin Pierce School districts students that are homeless or in at-risk situations can receive hygiene items and non-perishable food from the school health nurse or school counselor.
Twelve School Sites:
Challenger; Graham-Kapowsin; Spanaway Lake & Bethel Secondary Schools
Franklin Pierce; Washington; & Gates Secondary Schools
Mt. Tahoma; Lincoln; Stadium and Oakland Secondary Schools

2005-2006 school year ~ 111 Youth accessed sites = 185 times
( 53 males ~ 58 females )
